What does an invalid test result mean?
If the control line (C) is not visible on the test, the test is invalid, even if the test line is visible. An invalid test result means that the test is unable to determine if you are infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) / Influenza or not. The test needs to be repeated with a new kit and sample.
What does a negative result mean?
A negative test result on any of the test regions means that the COVID-19 / influenza virus was not detected in the sample. A negative result is presumptive because despite a negative result SARS-CoV-2 / influenza infection might still be present. This is because the amount of virus in the sample may be too low for the test to detect it. A low virus load may be present if the sample is taken at a time when symptoms just started to appear, or when symptoms were reducing at the end of infection. If the test was negative but COVID-19 / influenza symptoms continue, refer to a healthcare provider who will determine the best course of action.
What does a positive result mean?
A positive test result at any of the test regions means that SARS-CoV-2 / influenza virus was detected in the sample. A physician or healthcare provider can advise on follow-up care. In rare instances, individuals may also have co-infections with other bacteria or viruses that this test is not designed to detect. This means that the virus detected by this test may not be the definitive or the only cause of disease. There is a very small chance of a false positive result with this test. Repeat testing is not required for a positive result at any time.
What is serial testing?
Serial testing is when a single person is tested for COVID-19 / influenza more than once. Because antigen tests are less sensitive than other tests and false results may occur, repeated testing may identify individuals with COVID-19 / influenza more reliably than a single test. By repeating testing, it may be possible to more quickly identify cases of COVID-19 / influenza and reduce spread of infection.
How do you interpret results?
Please refer to the instructions in the package insert. If you need further assistance please contact Technical support at +1 (888) 444-3657 (9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CDT M-F) or wondfo@wondfousa.com.
Should results be reported?
Report your COVID-19 test result(s) anonymously at MakeMyTestCount.org to help public health teams understand COVID-19 spread and inform public health decisions.
What is the difference between an antigen and molecular test?
Antigen tests detect proteins from a virus. Molecular tests detect genetic material from the virus. Antigen tests are very specific for a virus, but not as sensitive as molecular tests. This means that a positive result is highly accurate, but a negative result does not rule out infection. If the test result is negative, an additional test may be necessary following discussion with a healthcare provider.
How accurate is the test?
The test is highly accurate when used according to the Instructions For Use.
